Come prepared. Start on time.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m.

Plan to enter at least 15 minutes before the 8:00 a.m. start. The current course information warns that late arrival can mean forfeiting the course.

Free parking is behind the building.

Use the larger rear lot. The current course-day page says not to park in slots facing the building and notes that students have permission to use spaces marked “Reserved.” Street parking can be used if the lot is full.

Read, discuss, handle, ask.

• Read through and discuss the course manual.
• See demonstrations of firearms and ammunition.
• Get hands-on time with the training firearms.
• Ask questions throughout the day.
• Complete the written and practical testing after instruction.

The course is instructed in English.

The current site notes that a firm understanding of English is important because firearms terminology will be new to many students.
